The Learning Institute for the Growth of High Technology (L.I.G.H.T.) is a 17,000 square foot manufacturing training center located at the main campus of Penn United Technologies in Western Pennsylvania. L.I.G.H.T.’s main mission is to assess, design and develop manufacturing training programs to meet the needs of our customers and employees. Inside the Learning Institute are three classrooms and six labs equipped with the most up-to-date manufacturing machinery and state-of-the-art equipment to enable us to provide customized manufacturing training in a variety of areas for both external customers and our internal employees.

Customer Advanced Manufacturing Training
L.I.G.H.T. offers manufacturing training to other businesses and industries through its roster of 37 courses and its growing selection of metalworking seminars and workshops. In cases where the standard program or course is not specifically what the customer desires, we can customize training to suit the customer’s needs. We also provide consultation assistance on a wide range of services spanning from metalworking to quality & lean manufacturing, to safety and more. Taking advantage of our staff’s core competencies, we are able to provide technical writing services for our customers.
Our customized manufacturing training center offers our customers and other industries training through a list of courses, seminars and workshops. We develop training programs to meet individual customer needs. Our programs give customers the knowledge and skills to achieve optimal results in precision metal manufacturing. Apprenticeship Programs
Most of the manufacturing training that is conducted at L.I.G.H.T. for our internal employees is done in support of our 4 apprenticeship programs approved by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Apprenticeship Training (BAT) as well as 3 inter-company programs.
