Overmolding of medical components such as cannulas is a service Penn United can offer.
Overmolding is commonly used in various industries, including automotive, electronics, medical devices, and consumer products. It offers several advantages such as improved product durability, enhanced aesthetics, better ergonomics, and the integration of multiple functions into a single part. Examples include adding a soft grip to a tool handle, encapsulating electronic components for protection, or creating complex seals and gaskets.
Regularly scheduled machine calibration ensures machine accuracy.
Every one of our machines utilizes support equipment to vary and monitor mold and resin drying temperature.
Gowning area's to white room molding facility.
All molded products are initially packaged in double plastic bags within the White Room. Subsequently, they are transferred to designated cardboard boxes in a separate room, utilizing a passthru door for the transfer process.
DESIGN:
Mold Design
Quality and quality control are integral from the outset of mold design at Penn United. Customer drawings undergo meticulous analysis to ensure compatibility with mold design criteria. The selection of thermoplastic resin is scrutinized to verify that its characteristics align with customer requirements. Factors including shrinkage rate, tensile strength, chemical resistance, wall thickness, thread or rib configurations, and gate locations are thoroughly assessed.
Penn United utilizes SolidWorks for mold design and GIBBSCAM for cutter paths, ensuring precision and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
MOLD FABRICATION:
